So I didn't think I'd be doing this again this year! The 3 Peat is on! After disappointingly failed attempts at London and Brighton in April this year, missing out on the 3hrs 30mins I had set for myself, a few weeks after London, some whiskey was drunk, a plan was hatched, a flight booked and 5 months of preparation begins.
I've spent a month recovering from a niggling knee injury. Have a couple more weeks of light running exercise ahead, and then I'll try to cover some serious mileage, no less than 200 km a month through August, September and October. With a final few runs around Central Park I'll be taking the ferry from the bottom of Manhattan to Staten Island. From here I'll run through Queens and Brooklyn, back to Manhattan, up to the Bronx and back down to finish in Central Park. In what will be a sub 3.30 time!
I'm on a hefty 14 week plan which will see me cover just under 1000km... I'm determined to be more prepared, and in better form that on my previous attempts in Brighton and London this year. The course is a bit more hilly than I initially thought, but hopefully the crowd and the training can pull me through!
I've also decided to set a bit of a sweepstake. For people donating £10 they get to guess a finishing time... to the second, and the person who gets it right will win a prize! A small thank you to everyone who's helped me raise money over these 4 marathon attempts!
So please donate! The aim is to get to £1500, which will be a phenomenal amount!

I love New York City and it doesn't seem a more fitting place to get a goal I've been targeting for the best part of 4 years.
Thanks again!
